Mermaid Parade 2012

Great makeup

punk violin

Welcomed the Solstice at the 30th Annual Mermaid Parade at Coney Island yesterday.  Gave the new camera a workout.  Ended the day tired, sunburned and a little dehydrated, but managed to get a few shots that I am happy with.  More to come.

Raced Hot

Yes you have.

Ex Corpore on Display

Ex Corpore is currently in the Fence Salon 2012 show at the Arts Center of The Capital District.  This is the open show for Arts Center members.  Hoping to make it to the juried segment of the show.

La Décennie du Moi

QED!

This just may work.

Found It!

Getting closer

OK, I think that this is it.  The guys seem to work better in this one.  Proposal for Art Souterrain is due in 5 days.  Coming down to the wire, but things are starting to come together.

There is a Sculpture in there Somewhere

Working

All the elements are there – styrofoam heads, wax lips, pedestals – but I just can’t find it.  It’s just not working yet.

Back in the Shop

beginning of the me decade

Back in the shop and starting on another piece.  This one goes back to a concept that I had a few years ago involving styrofoam heads and wax lips.  I am working on a small part of the installation for a proposal for Art Souterrain 2013.  I was not going to try for the 2013 exhibit because the deadline is so soon, but the committee sent me an email last week inviting me to submit something and I could not resist.

One for Mikey

My father-in-law passed recently after a difficult battle with lung cancer.  Through it all, he maintained his sense of humor and joie de vivre.  He will be greatly missed.
